Newsletter September 2020.

Now open 7 days a week

(see opening hours below)

The committee came to a decision last week, to re-open the doors and to start the process of returning to providing sporting facilities and social refreshment for our members. The decision we arrived at was based on a strategic review and financial review and much debate.

Our aim is to provide a safe and comfortable atmosphere for our staff, members and guests. Lawn Tennis and Bowls have been operating for a number of weeks with protocols in place to protect members from Covid-19. These measures will continue until we are advised otherwise.

The members lounge, snooker room and table tennis room will re-open on Friday 14th of August at 5pm until 11pm.

We have been forced to face the fact that customer flow will not be as high as we have previously enjoyed and have made the decision to limit the opening to

Monday open 5pm- 10pm

Tuesday 5pm- 10pm

Wednesday Open 5pm – 11pm

Thursday Open 5pm – 11pm

Friday Open 5pm – 11pm

Saturday Open 2pm – 11pm

Sunday Open 2pm – 10pm

All members and their guests are asked to observe the measures listed below while using the premises.

Guide to conduct for patrons during COVID 19 crisis.  The aim of the guidance is to create a safe and comfortable environment for members and their guests.

  • Members are asked to refrain from visiting if they are unwell or are displaying symptoms of Covid -19.
  • Members and their guests only. Signing in fee for guests @£1.00 per day.
  • Members are asked to re-new their membership as soon as possible. New members are being accepted by completing a membership form and paying the appropriate fee.
  • Contactless payment is preferred.
  • Members and their guests must sign in each time they visit in a register kept at the bar in the members lounge.
  • Staff levels are reduced for the time being. Please be patient and courteous to our staff. They are working hard to serve you in very difficult times.
  • Members and their guests must follow the guidelines publish on notice boards and in prominent places.
  • Members and their guests must take their drinks and refreshment to a table. Empty glasses must be returned to a glass collection point at the bar. The bar is not an area to consume drinks or refreshment, it is a place where we will serve drinks and refreshment.
  • Members and their guests must sanitise their hands when entering or leaving the lounge or snooker room.
  • Members and their guests must wash hands after visiting the toilets.
  • Members and their guests must not move any furniture. Furniture and seating are arranged with social distancing measures according to government guidelines.
  • When moving around the premises, please be courteous and observe social distancing as well as you can. Please be aware that other customers may be more vulnerable and more concerned about contracting the illness than others.
  • Particular guidance for the use of the Table Tennis facility will be sent directly to TT members.
  • Particular guidance for the use of the snooker room will be displayed in the club and snooker room. Please report to the bar staff when entering the club.  These are interim measures. The hours of opening are subject to a regular review. The measures to ensure a safer environment are subject to review by the Government Health Advisors and local authority monitors.

We look forward to seeing you again, whether it’s to enjoy your sporting activity, or for a friendly drink in the bar. Club members and Committee members have been very busy during the closure and have re-decorated the lounge, function room, snooker room and table tennis room. We all owe you a debt of thanks.
