Since June 25th, 1925, Woodfield Social & Sports Club has proudly served the community of Penn, Wolverhampton, offering a warm, welcoming home for sport, friendship, and local connection. From our roots in tennis and bowls, we’ve grown into a space that brings generations together.
A century later, our mission is the same: to promote healthy, inclusive, and vibrant community sport.
🎾 Court Refurbishment Crowdfunder
To mark our 100-year milestone, we’re investing in the future of tennis at Woodfield by refurbishing all four courts with state-of-the-art Tiger Turf surfaces.
💡 Total Fundraising Goal: £30,000

🏆 Sport England will match this with another £15,000 — if we reach our goal!

🎈 Centenary Celebrations
We’re honouring 100 years of community with a fun filled day of events, including, Tennis, Table Tennis, Crown Green Bowls taster sessions
- Indoor Craft Fayre – Various stalls will be on offer, including, sweets, cakes and more.
- Centenary Karaoke Evening – A night to remember and not to be missed, with a special Elvis tribute act,
- Children’s activities – Bouncy Castle, Face Painting plus others activities.
- Refreshments – Our fully licensed bar will be open, Snacks qill also be available, plus an on-site ice

Join us for Poker Night!
Date: Every Monday (for 13 weeks in total), starting 21st October 2024.
Time: 8pm prompt start.
Location: Woodfield Social & Sports Club, Woodfield Avenue. WV4 4AF.

Get ready to shuffle up and deal at our exciting new Poker Night! Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a curious newcomer, this is the perfect opportunity to showcase your skills, enjoy some friendly competition and have the potential to qualify for regional and national Redtooth competitions, as-well as the potential opportunity to play in Las Vegas.
What to Expect:
The card game : Texas Hold’em
Our league is based solely at Woodfield Social & Sports Club.
Games are played every Monday for 13 weeks.
£5 entry fee to be paid on the night (No re-buys).
NB: ALL players must be members of W.S.S.C to play which currently only costs £15 per year, from 1st Apr – 31st Mar.
Guests are permitted to attend a maximum of 3 visits, however, MUST sign the club’s guest book upon arrival and when leaving.
Points are awarded on finishing positions.
Top four players from Woodfield at the end of the season will qualify for quarterly regional finals, with the top three players automatically qualifying and Woodfield has a choice of either the fourth placed player qualifying or staging a play-off game on a separate night.
Woodfield’s winner will be presented with a glass trophy and certificate at a presentation ceremony held at the Redtooth regional finals.
There are 72 regional finals nationwide each year, where our four winners compete against players from other local participating pubs to play for the title of regional champion.
The winner of the regional final will qualify for the VEGAS100 trip with the other top players qualifying for our UK national finals where they will have a further chance to qualify for the VEGAS100 trip.
Food & Drinks: The bar will be open for you to purchase refreshments and light snacks.
Fun and professional atmosphere: We will be using Redtooth Poker tables and casino chip sets to make it feel like your in the casino.
